Bringing together some of the leading pioneers in biofield medicine, this pre-conference workshop will explore cutting edge advancements as well as how the future of health and medicine will be impacted by the rich tapestry of knowledge and perspectives biofield science offers.
If you sign up as a CHI Contributor, you can get $250 off now and get discounts for future conferences!
Thanks to a generous donation, AIHM is extending an exclusive offer to CHI Contributors – $250 for the full day, instead of the $600 non-member price for this event! However we must sign up by July 31st to take advantage of this offer.
Objective 1: Cite some of the recent advances in biofield science and their application in health promotion and disease prevention.
Objective 2: Evaluate the effectiveness of biofield therapies as demonstrated through qualitative and quantitative research.
Objective 3: Articulate the relationship between spirituality, consciousness, and health.
Objective 4: Understand that reaching our full potential and achieving optimal health involves a process of deep spiritual and consciousness exploration.
Larry Dossey, MD
Upon graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Dossey worked as a pharmacist while earning his M.D. degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, 1967. Before completing his residency in internal medicine, he served as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam, where he was decorated for valor. Dr. Dossey helped establish the Dallas Diagnostic Association, the largest group of internal medicine practitioners in that city, and was Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital in 1982.
An education steeped in traditional Western medicine did not prepare Dr. Dossey for patients who were blessed with “miracle cures,” remissions that clinical medicine could not explain. “Almost all physicians possess a lavish list of strange happenings unexplainable by normal science,” says Dr. Dossey. “A tally of these events would demonstrate, I am convinced, that medical science not only has not had the last word, it has hardly had the first word on how the world works, especially when the mind is involved.”
Rosalyn Bruyere, DD
Dual involvement in research and healing has provided a primary inspiration for Rosalyn’s work. Using her skills in perceiving and interpreting auric phenomenon, she was instrumental in research conducted at UCLA with Dr. Valerie Hunt in which the existence and significance of the human aura was first proven and measured scientifically. It was here Rosalyn’s capacity to “read” the human energy field was first noted. Her ability to see patterns of disease and behavior in exquisite detail and to energetically transform tissue at a cellular level has brought her worldwide attention and a reputation as one of the nation’s most successful healers. See Medical Research support.
Acknowledged by the keepers of medicine and shamanic traditions on several continents, Rosalyn is committed to learning, practicing and preserving the ancient ways. The grace with which she moves between cultures, honors their sacred traditions and gathers knowledge from varying disciplines has made Rosalyn a welcome and honored guest in Hopi Kiva, African hut and Tibetan temple alike.
Founder and director of the Healing Light Center Church, Reverend Bruyere has committed her life to the teaching of these sacred and ancient disciplines, thereby providing her students with practical tools for living the spiritual life, while introducing them to the venerable traditions from which those tools are derived. Her goal is to encourage the compassionate healing and empowerment of the individual, believing that as we each heal, we can be of greater assistance in the healing of the world.
She is the originator of the whole-body technique known as Chelation which has become a classic, taught in many modern healing schools, as well as Brain Balancing and a pain-reducing skill which some have called Pain Drain.
Her book, Wheels of Light, A Study of the Chakras, is an invaluable text for the bridging of ancient and modern healing arts. Rev. Bruyere has studied extensively in areas of Egyptian temple symbology, Sacred geometry, ancient Mystery School rites, international shamanic practices, the pre-Buddhist Tibetan Bon-Po Ways, and various Native American Medicine traditions.
Rosalyn’s knowledge of ancient traditions and practices has led to requests for her technical assistance on several films and documentaries. Among the more notable features on which she has served as technical consultant are “Resurrection” and “The Last Temptation of Christ”.
Attractive, articulate and witty, Rosalyn is an experienced public speaker on camera and off. She has the capacity to profoundly move an audience. Not only does Rosalyn present her ideas and perceptions with charm and intelligence, but her perspectives and insights offer the promise of healthier and more fulfilling lives and a brighter future for the planet.
James Oschman, PhD
Dr. Oschman has both the academic credentials and the background in alternative therapies to carry out his explorations. He has degrees in Biophysics and Biology from the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in major research labs around the world. These include Cambridge University in England, Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, the University of Copenhagen, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he was on the faculty, and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, where he was a staff scientist. His many scientific papers have been published in the world’s leading journals. And, to learn about the theories and practices underlying complementary methods, Jim has both taught and attended classes at various schools around the world, and experienced a wide range of bodywork techniques. This has brought Jim some distinctions, including acting as President of the New England School of Acupuncture, and a Distinguished Service Award from the Rolf Institute. Jim continues his research and writing in Dover, New Hampshire, where he is President of Nature’s Own Research Association.
Dr. Oschman is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine in Washington, DC, USA. On November 16, 2002, Jim was presented with the Foundation’s Founders Award at a ceremony held at the Madison Hotel in Washington, DC. Jim is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine; which is currently focused on researching electromagnetic devices for treating cancer. This is the only organization that sends scouts throughout the world searching for alternative therapies with the goal of subjecting these methods to scientific investigation and reporting the results to the American public on its web page: NFAM.org.
Shamini Jain, PhD
Dr. Jain obtained her B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University, and her Ph.D. degree from the SDSU/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology, with a research focus in psychoneuroimmunology. She conducted her clinical residency at the La Jolla VA Hospital/UC San Diego, and her post-doctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Division of Cancer Prevention and Control Research. Dr. Jain has published extensively in the areas of psychoneuroimmunology and well-being, integrative medicine, and healing, and has received numerous awards from scientific societies including the American Psychosomatic Society, the American Psychological Association, Society of Behavioral Medicine, Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society, and other societies for her clinical research.
Dr. Jain’s work has been featured in many news and media outlets including TIME, CNN, and US News and World Report. Dr. Jain has a passion for sharing the science and practice of healing and well-being. She and regularly speaks on these topics, in diverse venues including NATO, TEDx, major universities and medical centers, health-related conferences, and corporations. She also contributes as an author on these topics in online blogs including the Huffington Post and Times of India. Dr. Jain serves on the Board of Directors for Greenheart International, is a Steering Committee Member for NEXUS Invest in Yourself, and on the scientific advisory board for several social benefit companies including Wacuri and Leap Forward. In addition to forwarding her life’s passions and helping others realize theirs, Dr. Jain’s biggest joys are spending time with her beautiful family, singing, and surfing.
